"Ah-Di" (Daddy) Read!

Since starting school, Lleyton has become more interested in reading, and will often ask Daddy and/or Mummy to read to him. Tonight, he is his usual self, playing on Daddy & Mummy's bed, just before bed time, and abruptly asking Daddy to read him a book. Daddy & Mummy obviously need to work on Lleyton's book selection!

Lleyton is now a Big Brother!

Late last night, or rather early this morning, Mummy felt contraction on her tummy, and couldn't get to sleep, so she got up to surf the net to check for the exact symptoms for labour! After a couple of hours, and when the pain still did not go away, she gave up, and decided to try sleeping after all. However, it's only then that she realised that her water bag had burst. So, she hurriedly woke Daddy up, and was beginning to fluster until Daddy calmed her down, and told her to take a quick shower. Mummy came out of the shower lamenting that she's still dripping from her water bag, and was worried. Daddy gave her the "perfect" solution, use a towel, so Mummy obediently wrapped a towel underneath her dress, and got ready to head for the hospital. Meanwhile, Daddy got the bags in order, showered and shaved (Mummy felt that Daddy took too much time, but Daddy felt that things were in order, and should not enter panic mode). Then the call was made to Lleyton's grandparents to look after Lleyton after Daddy and Mummy depart for the hospital (in the meantime, the domestic helper babysitted Lleyton who was sound asleep and oblivious of the buzz happening around him).

After a short drive, the couple reached KKH, and got into the delivery suite around 5am. The midwife on duty was not on good form as she took a long time to settle Mummy down, and she was not able to help Mummy alleviate her pains and worries. The midwife was only concerned about getting her own checklist ticked (such as being more concerned about getting the name tag of the doctor, or moving the baby warmer to another power socket), and was insensitive to Mummy's pains, and neither was she able to respond to Mummy's request for epidural. Only upon prompting that she checked Mummy and called out that Mummy was 3cm dilated, and assessed that Mummy is not due yet. Nonetheless, she called the Gynae (as she self-confessed "not to get into trouble"). Miraculously, minutes later, Mummy was fully dilated, and the baby was "coming on". Fortunately, Dr Han arrived shortly after, and with a single push, Lleyton's baby sister was born! At 5.32am, she literally popped out, weighing 2.98Kg and measuring 48cm.

Later in the morning, Daddy went home to fetch Lleyton to see his baby sister. Lleyton was delighted to see the baby, whom Lleyton addresses as (bee-bee). After several hours in Mummy's ward, Lleyton was sent home for his afternoon nap, and he spent the remainder of the day playing with the gift that his baby sister "gave" him (a remote control car).

Excursion to the zoo!

Ever since the last 2 school excursions to SCDF and the Botanical Gardens, yesterday marked Lleyton's 3rd trip with his school to the ZOO! Both Mummy and Daddy decided to take the day off to accompany their little precious on the trip as part of his "Children's Day" celebration.

Lleyton went there via the school transport, while Mummy and Daddy proceeded to the zoo on their own and met up with them at the entrance. Later did they realise that there were few PGs attending this trip (adults are encouraged to accompany the PGs for this trip). Due to the large group, the kids explored most part of the zoo on the tram. This arrangement was ideal for Mummy as she was almost in her 38w and was afraid that she would not be able to cover the entire distance on foot.

Lleyton seemed to be rather excited when Daddy pointed the lion to him, which he replied "Rabbit?" (That was because he loved the story "Clever Rabbit and the Lion" and tend to associate both animals together).

The school went for 2 animal shows - Rainforest show and Elephant Show. He was well-behaved throughout and watched intently every second of the show.

Thereafter, they had lunch at KFC near the Waterplay Area. As it was approaching his nap time, he appeared rather sleepy while waiting for the tram back to the main entrance. Mummy and Daddy thus decided to bring him back home straight instead of the childcare.

At Polliwogs

Lleyton was at the Polliwogs in an October Birthday Bash, albeit the event happened in September. He had lots of fun, in the tunnel, up the stairs, down the slide, and swimming within the ball pool. Lleyton was so burnt out that he collapsed in his car seat upon reaching the car, and was sound asleep before Daddy had even driven out of the car park!

Don't Forget the Lyrics!

Lleyton seemed to have learnt quite a few songs in school, both in English and Chinese. However, he does not know how to kick-start a song until someone offers him the first part of the lyrics. Thus, Mummy has to try her luck to find out which are the songs that Lleyton has mastered.

Today is National Day, and Lleyton is super hyped up about it. He started screaming and dashing around the house with delight and excitement from dawn. He is not letting his spirits and energy level down, even when Mummy tries to put him to sleep for his afternoon nap.

The amazing thing about Lleyton for this National Day is that he has learned to take part in the sing along.

Hopefully, Lleyton will have learnt more songs come Singapore's 45th birthday.

Ready for the long weekend of National Day

Lleyton was all ready for his first celebration in the Singapore 44th National Day in school! Dressed in his red and white attire (a gift from Auntie LL), he looked so cheery in the morning and welcoming the day of the celebration.

Upon arrival at the school, he took a few shy shots with his classmate, Shanice. Indeed, he often takes a long time to warm-up before he is willing to offer his mega-watt smile. (If you look closely enough, you will see a small scratch on his cheeks. According to his teacher, he was bullied in school by another boy who pinched him on his face while they were having their milk). In school, they watched some performance and were each given a goodie-bag.. and one of the items (grape-biscuits) was contributed by Daddy and Mummy.

After school, Lleyton dropped by Mummy's office for the first time. Her colleagues were pleased to see him and he seemed to be rather at ease with the surroundings, touching Dawn's jie jie keyboard and drawers.

Thereafter, Daddy and Mummy proceeded to Vivo to have their dinner where Lleyton had a great feast of fishballs, noodles and thick toast at the "Central" Restaurant. Next stop was Giant - where they bought a 5-tier Toyogo storage cabinet to store more BB stuff. They also bought a box fan for the new domestic helper and stocked up on more groceries. Even though Lleyton fell asleep on the way back, he woke up again upon reaching home and decided to spend the night with Daddy and Mummy till 11+, knowing that it'll be a long weekend for all. That probably could justify why Mummy had to give up her movie date with the rest of her colleagues.

All about shopping

A friend of Mummy was commenting that she feels out of touch with the various pregnancies topics and was not up-to-date with the current "fashion" for mummies.

Mummy introduced her to the Motherhood forum website where she could make online purchases, including bulk purchase, overseas sprees and how she may be able to get good deals for family photoshoots, pregnancy or newborn photos. She was glad that the friend seemed to enjoy the "shopping" experience.

Even Auntie LL and Auntie LM seemed to get hooked to making purchases over the internet. Auntie LL bought some jibbtiz from gmarket and also some clothes for her kids. Wow.. suddenly both aunties have become more "hip"!

Meanwhile, Mummy has stopped shopping online for awhile.. not to mention real shopping. The last purchase (excluding grocery shopping) was about a month ago during the GSS, where she accompanied the same friend to shop for some kids' stuff. This time, Mummy decided to make an exception and bought some newborn clothes, occupying part of Lleyton's existing wardrobe. Guessed that's about all for now.. the rest can come later via online shopping again :)

Another not so recent wedding

Just another wedding quite some time back attended by the family... decided to snap a few shots with lil' cheeky Lleyton since he seemed so excited about going out.

He behaved relatively well and enjoyed the first few courses of the dinner. However, even though the courses were served at a relatively fast pace, the wedding dragged quite a bit due to the long slideshows and "games" meant for the bride and groom throughout the dinner. Can you imagine the tables were served dessert yet the relatives have not even taken the table photo-shot? Some kind of coordination..

As usual, Lleyton fell asleep only in the car on the way back. A late night for all.
