Made it finally...

Mummy finally made her way out to Orchard herself with Leanne! That was after much contemplation as there was this jacket that she saw at Uniqlo but didn't get it the other day at Ion. She decided on 313 Somerset as it was probably one of the last chances that she could sneak out to town before she returns to work.

Yes, going back to work. That will be 3 days from today. As much as she misses her colleagues (okay.. maybe not the work but the "qian bian" questions over coffee after lunch), there is still this reluctance and unable to accept that she had utilised 3.5 months of leave. The satisfying part was of course how she was able to watch Leanne grow over the past few months from a petite baby to a rather chubby one. This was unlike Lleyton's time when she had to go back to work when he was only 1.5 months old.

Back to the shopping bit, Leanne suddenly decided that she wanted to do her 'business' while Mummy was making payment at the counter, and started crying. Mummy had to quickly locate the Parents' Room to change her and nurse her thereafter. Even though it was a short 2 hours trip out, it was sufficient to make it a fulfilling day. After the late morning/noon event, Mummy went for her appointment with Auntie LM for some further upkeeping activities and more shopping!

Family trip to Malacca

The family's on the move again! This time was a driving trip to Malacca and A'Famosa Resort with Leanne. It was Leanne's first overseas trip! First stop was the famous Chicken Rice Balls at the Malacca, followed by Ice Cold Chendol and Ice Kachang.

The night was spent at Cowboy Town, in which the folks caught a 4D movie "Underwater World". Lleyton sat quietly throughout the whole show and not stirred at all even when the seats shook vigourously. Then the family proceeded for dinner followed by the Red Indians show and the Carnival Parade. Leanne sat through the whole Red Indians show, but fell asleep after that. The highlight was of course the fireworks display. In fact, that was the first time seeing fireworks so up close! It was fantastic!

The next morning, the family had breakfast at the Animal World Safari before going for the Elephant Show. Daddy bought a bunch of bananas for Lleyton to feed the elephants. However, Lleyton was so traumatised by the elephant who used its trunks to touch him that he kept saying "scared scared" after that and refused to take any rides nor go near the elephants. Daddy decided that he will bring Leanne to take photos with the elephants instead.

Next was the Safari truck ride. Daddy was educating Lleyton on the animals which were close to the truck. Lleyton was excited on seeing the live animals which looked different from those that he has seen on story books, especially on the size!

Mummy took a photo with Lleyton and Leanne after the Bird Show. See how Lleyton tried to imitate the flamingoes by raising one of his legs! After the shows, he was so thrilled!

The last event before the family left the Animal World was the visit to the Chicken Farm! Lleyton and Daddy had a great time feeding the little chicks. Lleyton was careful not to step on them, so most of the time he had his two legs curled up against Daddy.

Back at the villa, the folks had a dip in the private pool in the backyard. Then they proceeded to the sports centre to have a game of paintball and archery. Even Lleyton had a go at it!

After a long day at the resort, Daddy drove the family out to the Tampin town area for KFC. That night, Daddy and Mummy had a great game of Gin Rummy with Ah Gong and Ah Ma after waiting for the 2 kids to knock out.

It was indeed a great trip!

Additions to the corridor

Daddy and Mummy decided that it was about time to do up the piece of empty wall which has been sitting along the corridor for the past 4 years. Previously, the corridor only had the photo montage of Daddy and Mummy's wedding photo shoot, thus it is about time that the photos of Lleyton and Leanne are also framed up as part of the family!

After the visit to Uncle Alex's and Auntie Hester's house, they proceeded to Ikea to get frames and HP Print the next day to get the work started without any hesitation.

Dining Etiquette

Lleyton has started to learn some dining manners, such as putting a napkin at his collar and the getting right the sequence when having his dish.

Attempts at taking passport photo

Mummy spent sometime trying to capture a proper picture of Leanne in order to apply for the passport (and for herself as well since hers will be expiring in less than a year). She had a little problem trying to keep Leanne's head straight and smile at the same time.

Lleyton had taken his passport photo at almost the same time 2 years back.. which a piece of cloth nappy was used to create the white background (a requirement by ICA).

Just received the approval from ICA after 3 days of application, and Leanne and Mummy will be collecting their passports tomorrow! Time to zoom off to somewhere...

Events over the weekend - Saturday & Sunday

Saturday started with an early morning breakfast at Mcdonalds, where Mummy brought Lleyton and Leanne with the domestic helper, Ayen to the nearby City Square. Daddy had opted out for the event, as he slept in after a late night out celebrating his graduation. In the late morning, Lleyton went swimming...as Daddy had promised Lleyton in his valedictorian speech. Lleyton was taught how to kick to propel himself through the water, and assured that his arm floats (and natural buoyancy) will keep him above water. Lleyton seemed to pick up those lessons fairly quickly and it was heartening to notice him picking himself up and telling himself that he still want to swim despite drinking mouthfuls of water in the process.

Another learning milestone for Lleyton is his demonstration of some bowel control, or notification. He is now beginning to be able to inform Mummy of his intention to "poo poo", such that he can be rushed on to the potty in time. He has successfully done that several times lately.

Sunday...same events, swimming and potty training for Lleyton. In addition, Daddy brought Mummy and Lleyton for Badminton, but Lleyton is really too young for the game, as he could only managed to drag the rackets over the floor, or use them like golf clubs to hit the shuttlecocks lying on the floor. Daddy's assessment: Lleyton is too young for badminton, better to focus on golf and swimming for now.

Events over the weekend - Friday

This has been a very eventful weekend for Lleyton and Leanne. However, Leanne is asleep most of the time, and it will not be a surprise if she does not recall most of the proceedings. One moment she was awake, and the other she had fallen asleep. (Note that the background in the two photos below are identical, for it is actually the exact same scene, except that Leanne had fallen asleep in the second!)

The weekend started on Friday, as Daddy was on leave for his convocation. Hence, Lleyton was well dressed for the event. He was generally well behaved, albeit assisted by Mummy's constant feeding, throughout the ceremony.

After the graduation ceremony, the trio (Leanne was left with Grandma, as it was assessed that she will not be able to sit through the 3hr event) proceeded for dinner at Nan Xiang Steamed Bun, City Square. The setting was nice and food decent, and Lleyton seemed to have a great appetite until he vomited all his food out!

Lleyton's year-end concert performance

It was the first time Lleyton had a public performance. He performed a total of 3 dances with the rest of his playgroup classmates. It was "entertaining" to see his performance as most of the time he was either fixated at a spot without any actions or walking all over the stage, while his classmates were all doing what they were taught.

Mummy couldn't catch a good view of him initially as he was placed right at the back of the stage. But when she could, Lleyton seemed to have spotted her and was looking at the direction of her camera instead on focusing on the dance.


The next clip showed Lleyton standing at a fixed spot without any actions. Catch the last few seconds of the clip whereby he walked over to the end of the stage to find a good spot to do the "all fall down" action!

A week without Daddy

Daddy is off to the States for a conference which also coincides with Ah Ma's genting trip during the week.

Meanwhile, Mummy had a pretty uneventful week at home with Lleyton and Leanne. Every morning and evening , Ah Gong will kindly drop by to babysit Leanne while Mummy fetches Lleyton to and from school. At about 7.30pm, Daddy will come on Skype to do a quick 10 min video chat with Mummy and Lleyton / Leanne. The rest of the evening will be spent in the living room, watching TV and playing. At about 9, Mummy and the two kids will proceed to the bedroom while she watches them sleep.

Over in the States, Daddy seemed to have done quite a considerable amount of shopping from the factory outlets.. coach, gymboree, polo ralph, hard rock etc. It's a pity that Desitin Creamy (diaper rash cream) over there is no longer as cheap as it used to be.

Lleyton will be having his school concert tomorrow and he is now sleeping soundly. While he must be dreaming of his dances that he is performing, Mummy is going to dream of her Coach bags which Daddy will bring back from the States. :)
