Taipei Trip - Day 4

The day was spent travelling along the Danshui line - commencing from the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, which Lleyton watched the majestic change of guards for the first time (which was discovered later on that it was a rehearsal for Taiwan National Day Parade). He was indeed attracted to the contingent as they go marching by.

Next stop was the Miramar Entertainment Centre. This is a photo taken when Mummy and Lleyton were waiting for the free shuttle bus from Jiantan Station. Are you wondering why Lleyton was wrapped in a nappy?

The main attraction of Miramar was the Ferris Wheel. Lleyon seemed to enjoy the ride tremendously and does not appear concerned of the height he was at. Can't state the same for Daddy though.

It was too early for the Shih Lin Night Market even though it was right at the Jiantan Station. To seek shelter from the scorching sun, the trio decided to stop by for tea at "Piece of Cake" at Zhongshan Station (advertised in the guidebook for famous swiss rolls) before heading back to hotel first for a quick shower.

Oh well, the cake was gone before the photo was taken..

The best item of the day was of course dinner at the Shih Lin Night Market. Daddy & Mummy "hopped" from stalls to stalls with Lleyton, trying to feast on each of the recommended food of the Night Market. This time, there was 棺材板 (Thick Toast with Fillings), 蚵仔煎 (Fried Oyster) & 蚵仔面線 (Oyster Mee Sua), 臭豆腐 (Smelly Beancurd), 愛玉冰 (ice-jelly drink) and 大餅包小餅. The famous 豪大大雞排 had to be given up as Mummy and Daddy were too full notwithstanding that the queue was extremely long!

Over the course of 4 days, Lleyton seems to be more aware of his surroundings and will start to point at things, people and whatever that catches his attention. He tends to show his likes and dislikes in a more obvious manner which Mummy and Daddy have to manage with care.

Wah, I've always dreamt of going to one of these Taiwanese street stalls. I LOVE oyster mee sua! I found a little eatery at Bt Timah Plaza run by a Taiwanese chap that does it very well. But I'm sure nothing beats the real thing in Taiwan! Have fun eating :)
